Charity event by IFT students raises money for Special Olympics

Year 3 IFT students in the Tourism Event Management Bachelor Degree Programme organised a charity event with a Macao gastronomy theme in November. The proceeds from the event, amounting to MOP20,000, were donated to Macao Special Olympics, a charity promoting social inclusion through sport of those with intellectual disabilities.

The event was titled “Running Food” and featured a team challenge. Under the supervision of a lecturer, the students arranged the entire event themselves, including finding sponsors for the activity.

This orienteering event took place on 11 November, starting at the IFT Amphitheatre.The goal was to promote Macao’s most authentic local restaurants and the city’s gastronomy while increasing awareness of participants about the city’s inclusion in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of gastronomy.

The activity attracted 30 teams and 140 participants joined the event. A total of 16 local restaurants participated as supporting partners of the event.
