IFT Educational Restaurant again recognised by Michelin Guide

The quality of food and service at the IFT Educational Restaurant has once again been recognised by the Michelin Guide Hong Kong Macau. The 2019 edition of the famed dining listings, launched on 11 December, again recommends the IFT establishment.

The Educational Restaurant is among just 9 Macao eateries accorded Bib Gourmand status in the 2019 version. The guide’s inspectors give the Bib Gourmand tag in Macao to establishments that offer a high-quality 3-course meal for MOP400 or under.

The IFT Educational Restaurant has been annually recommended by the Michelin Guide since the first edition for Macao was published in 2009.

Michelin Guides are among the most influential publications in the world of hospitality. The original Michelin Guide, covering France, was first published in 1900. There are now a number of versions of the guide, covering different regions of the world.

The IFT Educational Restaurant is recommended in several hospitality guides, including the Ctrip Gourmet List 2018, produced by Ctrip, a leading Chinese provider of travel services. IFT’s establishment also holds a “Certificate of Excellence Award” from the popular international travel website TripAdvisor.

The IFT Educational Restaurant – at the Mong-Há Campus – provides an opportunity for students to gain in-depth, practical experience of the restaurant business, while being coached and supervised by experienced instructors. The setup allows students to interact with paying guests in a real-life setting.

The restaurant’s menu offers a selection of Macanese and Portuguese-style dishes, made with a modern touch. The restaurant supports organic farming and the Slow Food movement. Herbs used in its dishes are grown in a herb garden on the Mong-Há Campus.
