IFTM holds its first Arts Graded Examination of China

中文摘要 / Summary in Chinese

IFTM held its first Arts Graded Examination of China on 3 November. The Sketch (Grade 3) examination was for students taking the Graphic Design Programme offered jointly by IFTM and the Escola Luso-Chinesa Técnico-Profissional.

There were 17 candidates that sat the exam, which was authorised by the China Art Association.

The examination was overseen by representatives of the IFTM School of Continuing Education, and of the China Institute of Arts Science & Technology Office of Social Art Graded Exams, PRC (Macau). The China Institute of Arts Science & Technology is an arm of the Central People’s Government Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The Arts Graded Examination of China system is promoted by the China Art Association. The scheme includes exams across a range of skills and skill levels to help advance art education and mastery of artistic skills, and to help set national standards for art.

Since November 2019, the IFTM School of Continuing Education has been authorised to teach courses to prepare candidates to sit the Arts Graded Examination of China. The Institute is also registered as a place for sitting the exams.

Once the candidates have completed a preparation course and passed an exam, they receive a certificate from IFTM. Their artwork is also submitted to the China Institute of Arts Science & Technology for assessment. If their work receives high enough marks, the Certificate of Arts Grade Examination of China is awarded.

The Arts Grade Examination of China system is recognised nationally, including among higher education institutions in Mainland China. By teaching courses to prepare candidates, IFTM aims to contribute to the development of the arts in Macao.
