中文摘要 / Summary in Chinese

A total of 76.2 percent of IFTM bachelor programme students graduating in academic year 2018/2019 had gained employment within 6 months of completing their studies. That is according to the Institute’s latest online graduate employment survey.

Of those people, 83.3 percent were in full-time work with a salary that fell within a monthly median of MOP16,100.

For IFTM diploma programme graduates, those responding recorded in total an employment rate of approximately 70 percent, with 91.7 percent of that cohort working full time in Macao on a salary that fell within a monthly median of MOP20,500.

All the figures are according to IFTM’s 2018/2019 Degree and Diploma Programme Graduates’ Career Placement Survey. IFTM launched the online employment survey questionnaire for 2018/2019 graduates in November last year.

For bachelor graduates, the overall response rate was 74 percent, with 92.8 percent of those reporting employment being engaged in the Macao labour market.

Of the employed IFTM bachelor programme people, 75.8 percent were in tourism and hospitality; a further 17.4 percent were in other services; 3.4 percent were in government work; 2.0 percent were in education; and 1.3 percent were engaged by “associations”.

A total of 10.5 percent of the bachelor programme graduates responding said they were continuing studies, either for a master’s degree or on a professional certificate programme.

The diploma programme graduate responses showed that 45.8 percent of those in employment were working in tourism and hospitality; 20.8 percent were in the government sector; 16.7 percent were in education; 12.5 percent were in other types of services; and 4.2 percent were in occupations classified under the heading “others”.
