This course is the continuation of Financial Accounting (ACCT114) and will expose students to the theory and practice of selecting and analyzing managerial and financial accounting information for internal use by managers on budgeting, planning, directing, decision making and controlling purposes. Focus lies on the generation, communication, and interpretation of both internal and external information for operational and strategic decision-making purposes. 

Analytical techniques to filter information for the development of well-organized and high quality business plans, with an emphasis on corporate social responsibility (ethical behaviour), will be covered. Conditions and methods to integrate corporate mission, social values, ethics and human rights within the decision-making process, with special focus on accounting fraud will be taught. The Statement of Cash Flow based on the cash basis of accounting will be discussed.
