The purpose of the course is to familiarise students with a range of technical visualization tools and methods for documenting cultural heritage objects /artworks and the surroundings they are exposed to. The course offers methods for critically evaluating how these tools and methods are utilized in different current projects and how they impact the way objects are represented to the public. With a focus on documentation, the course provides an orientation in software and methods utilized in contemporary conservation. Time is given for the student to independently study one or more of these methods and tools in cases where supervision is available. Based upon a study of a complex cultural heritage object, the student shall document in a group or alone an individual project. The student is introduced and taught in the use of technologies for documentation and visualization of objects and/or artworks in various contexts.
