Course Code CHM1003
Credits 3.00
Hours / Week 3

This course introduces students to intangible cultural heritage (ICH), which includes – with many variations – rituals, festivals, oral traditions and languages, performances, traditional crafts, as well as customs, histories, and stories. The course aims to help students understand the nature and value of ICH and how ICH assets are manifested in our daily life. Importantly, students will be able to identify ICH, and how those assets are safeguarded today and, interpreted. In this course, the students will learn how ICH forms an integral part of the cultural capital at local, regional, national and global levels.
