This course provides the foundation for appreciating the art, architecture and culture of the world in their historical and geographical contexts and their contribution towards social and economic development. It introduces the structure and multidisciplinary character of the cultural and creative industry, which encompasses various sectors such as media, communications, arts, film, music and other public and private organisations. Particular emphasis is given on the integration and partnership among innovation, entrepreneurship and cultural resources, essentially cultural heritage in a fast-changing world. The course aims to provide a critical understanding of the industry for students seeking career opportunities in the abovementioned sectors and a conceptual framework of the operation and management of the industry.
