This course aims to develop students’ knowledge and skills of communication in English, in particular, communication in the academic context. Students will be required to demonstrate their ability to conduct research, formulate claims justified and developed by evidence and reasoning, use academic vocabulary, and transfer these skills in the context of business communication. Students will also need to show their ability to use their language skills and reasoning skills in product design pitch presentation and report writing, engaging in formal meetings, and conducting case study analysis. Meanwhile, students are also required to demonstrate their thorough understanding of the concept of plagiarism and their active effort to avoid it in their work.
