This course aims to develop students’ knowledge and skills of communication in English, in particular, communication in the academic context. Students will be required to demonstrate their ability to carry out critical thinking during the process of topic setting, material processing and selection, and information synthesis. Students will also need to show their ability to use their language skills and reasoning skills in the, topic pitch presentation, composition of an academic paper, and in an oral defense of the paper. Meanwhile, students are also required to demonstrate their thorough understanding of the concept of plagiarism and their active effort in avoiding its appearance in their work.
