Japanese II is a continuation of Japanese I and designed for those who have completed Japanese I or equivalent. It aims to build up the elementary grammatical structure of the Japanese language through a textbook and to help students to employ the knowledge in situational practices. The course will focus on the development of the communicative competence in speaking, listening, reading and writing. Throughout the course, learners are expected to acquire another 300 words and phrases (about 600, including those in Japanese I) related to the daily life, and to use them in simple sentence pattern. It also aims to nurture tolerance for other cultures.
