Japanese V is a continuation of Japanese IV and designed for those who have completed Japanese IV or equivalent. It aims to build up the elementary grammatical structure of the Japanese language through textbooks and to help students to employ the knowledge in situational practices. The course will focus on the development of the communicative competence in speaking, listening, reading and writing. Throughout the course, learners are expected to acquire 100 new words and phrases (about 1100, including those from Japanese I to IV) related to the daily life, and to master the patterns of some verb/adj form change and speech style change, and to use them in slightly more complicating sentence patterns with function. It also aims to have interaction with visitors from Japan and/or Japanese living in Macao in order to have cross-cultural experience.
