This course teaches basic statistical techniques for business forecasts and long-range plans. Students will understand research design, forecasting, data analysis, model building, and business research methodology. Topics covered include exploring data patterns choosing a forecasting technique, applying smoothing techniques and decomposing a time series into its underlying components, applying causal forecasting techniques, such as correlation, regression, and multiple regression analysis, forecasting time series data, technological and judgmental forecasting techniques.
