The objective of the course is to provide an introductory approach to the importance of the human component in organisations. Following an introduction to organisational theory, central themes as motivation, teamwork and organisational culture will be studied as potential determinants of organisational success. The theories will be applied in a project approach, according to the program major, to the following fields: tourism business management; hotel management; tourism event management; retail and marketing management; heritage management; culinary arts management. The project approach main goal is to develop a solid link between theory and practice, training the students to apply the concepts in organisational management and market realities.
