Appreciation of Chinese and Western Arts is to develop knowledge and understanding of the art forms and cultural expressions from both Eastern and Western traditions and contemporaries. Through the exploration of various art forms, such as painting, sculpture, installation and new media art, students will cultivate a deep appreciation for the artistic achievements of these two rich cultural approach. The course aims to facilitate critical analysis skills and aesthetic sensation, encouraging students to examine artworks from both Eastern and Western perspectives, and to engage in comparative analysis. Additionally, the course seeks to enhance students' historical and contextual understanding, promoting an understanding of the social, political, and cultural factors that have influenced the development of Eastern and Western art. Ultimately, the objective is to stimulate critical thinking, interpretation, and aesthetic appreciation, while generate cross-cultural dialogue and understanding.
