This course introduces students to essential retail management concepts such as determination of target market, location analysis, store layout and organization, staffing, planning, merchandizing and pricing techniques, customer service policies, communication mix and store operations. The knowledge gained from the subject enable the students to have a comprehensive understanding of the retail management process and key issues that influence the operation of a retail business. To enhance students' understanding in course topic, guest lectures and site visit to a local retail organization will be arranged. A newly established training unit iRetail Lab will also be used to facilitate the course delivery.
