Eight-day Training Programme*
Determination of the type of programme to be offered (Technical/Executive/Specialist) will depend upon the identified training needs of the UNWTO member states and others who are nominated or those who wish to participate.
Upon identifying the participating countries, further clarification of the training needs & expectations will be undertaken through completion of a short survey, seeking profile information of the prospective participants and their specific needs and expectations. The information supplied shall be used to customise and finalise the particular programme for each cohort of participants.
Once the prospective participants have been identified, it is important for them to complete and submit the profile and needs identification form by the due date requested. This is necessary in order to allow sufficient time to organise the necessary arrangements and finalise the programme. Those failing to supply the requested information, in a timely manner, may jeopardise their ability to join the programme. All participants shall be vetted and approved by the Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM) to ensure that there is an appropriate match according to the type of programme being offered.
Technical Placement Programme*
This programme is a customised one whereby educators, tourism professionals and officials as well as others seeking to enhance their knowledge of the tourism, hospitality, or tourism-related areas.
Typically, the programme shall be held during academic term time and the period of the placement (up to 3 months) will vary depending upon the needs of the employer or sponsoring body, as well as the participant. All participants nominated to participate in this programme shall be vetted by IFTM.
*The training programmes are delivered in English.
