Executive from Grand Lisboa Palace Resort shares insights on human resources challenges to IFTM students

IFTM recently hosted a sharing session by Mr. Timothy Lee, Assistant Vice President of Learning & Development, Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau. Through Mr. Lee’s captivating sharing, students gained invaluable insights and expanded their horizons on challenges facing human resources. For instance, Mr. Lee highlighted contemporary issues related to remote working and artificial intelligence in workplace, two important topics covered in IFTM degree programme curricula. The students also learnt about career prospects at Grand Lisboa Palace, particularly on management trainee programme which offers a well-organised development plan for those wishing to embark on a career in the hospitality industry. The sharing concluded in high spirits with a lively Q&A session whereby students were able to engage with Mr. Lee and his colleagues from Grand Lisboa Palace.

SHM periodically invites executives from the industry to share their expertise and experience with students to enrich their learning and development through gaining insights and engaging with professionals in hospitality. In addition to these sharing sessions, students from the three SHM specialisations – Hotel Management, Tourism Event Management and Culinary Arts Management – often participate in organised visits to integrated resorts and other hospitality establishments in Macao, the Greater Bay Area and beyond.
