IFTM students earned excellent awards in the "National College Students Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Marine Tourism Innovation Competition"

In order to implement the spirit of the important speech and instructions put forward by General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), Xi Jinping on the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) at the 20th National Congress of the CCP and accelerate the cultivation of applied talents for the cultural and tourism industry in the GBA, IFTM actively encouraged students to participate in the GBA different activities and competitions. In October 2022, IFTM organised students to participate in the competition of “National College Students Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Marine Tourism Innovation Competition and Cultural and Tourism Applied Talents cultivating and Teaching Reform Forum" jointly organised by the Tourism Education Branch of the China Tourism Association and Zhuhai College of Science and Technology. The theme of this competition was "more innovative marine tourism, more helpful for the GBA's development".

Under the guidance of our teaching staff, 14 IFTM students were divided into three teams to participate in the competition. After three rounds' review, it was announced that they won two first prizes and a third prize on November 11:

• First Prize: Wang Yu (Tourism Business Management), Xian Jiaying (Tourism Business Management), Lu Ruotong (Tourism Business Management), Deng Junyi (Heritage Management) and Zhong Zifei (Hotel Management) (supervised by Assistant Professor Guan Jieqi)
• First Prize: Duan Yakun (Tourism Business Management), Peng Qianying (Tourism Business Management), Yu Chenlu (Hotel Management) and Fu Ziwei (Hotel Management) (supervised by Assistant Professor Li Xiangping)
• Third Prize: Yuan Chenrong (Tourism Event Management), Zhuo Zhenting (Tourism Event Management), Lu Mengyuan (Tourism Event Management), Chu Yexuan (Tourism Event Management) and Chen Ting (Tourism Event Management) Program Management) (supervised by Assistant Professor Chen Xiaolian)

A total of 653 teams from 163 colleges and universities in China participated in this competition. Among the 533 entries, only 10% of the entries successfully passed and won the first prize, 20% won the second prize, and 30% won the third prize. IFTM students made a great effort in the competition and achieved good results.
