IFTM co-organises international conference in Poland (ICE2023)

Hosted by the Vistula School of Hospitality and Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM) as one of the co-organisers, the 6th International Conference on Events (ICE2023) – Making Waves in Poland: Transformational Events was successfully held in Warsaw, Poland on 3-6 September 2023. The conference attracted over 70 attendees from 17 different countries and regions of the world discussing latest research findings and developments in events management.

The ICE conference series was originally a joint venture between IFTM and Bournemouth University in the United Kingdom with its first conference held in 2010 through the IFTM Tourism Research Centre. It truly extended its coverage internationally in its third edition which was hosted by IFTM in collaboration with other partner institutions, including the Rosen College of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida in the United States of America which is part of the organising committee as well as Cape Peninsula University of Technology in South Africa.

The next conference will return to Asia in 2025, to be hosted by Beijing International Studies University (BISU) in the People's Republic of China. More information about the ICE conference series is available on www.makingwavesinevents.org.

IFTM boasts international acclaim and educational excellence in events management with latest research and pedagogy with strong links to the events industry. It is home to the Bachelor of Science degree programme in Tourism Event Management, one of the pioneers dedicated entirely to this specialisation. New postgraduate degrees in events management are to be launched in the coming academic year, subject to government approval.
