Considering Macao's 1+4 economic diversification strategy and positioning as a World Centre for Tourism and Leisure, the burgeoning events sector both regionally and globally, as well as the crucial role of events as platforms for different industries to meet and flourish, there is a strong demand for high calibre professionals in the events industry who are resourceful and resilient with advanced skills and knowledge. Building on the success of the Bachelor of Science in Tourism Event Management degree programmes, the School of Hospitality Management has been developing postgraduate programmes in events management by conducting a thorough market analysis and benchmarking other world-renowned programmes. It is with great pleasure to announce that the IFTM Institute Council has approved to launch three postgraduate programmes in events management, scheduled for the first intake of students in 2024. The new programmes are Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in International Hospitality and Tourism Management (specialisation in Events Management), Master of Science (MSc) in International Events Management and Postgraduate Diploma (PgD) in International Events Management.
